Going, Going, Gone

We were trying to think of a clever title and this is what we came up with. For all of you out there who are dying to know what is gone I think you might be in for a little surprise. Hope decided last week that it was time to let go of some of her curly locks. She had been getting headaches when she would wear her hair up in a pony tail and she was getting tired of picking her hair out of her mouth. So last Friday I took her in and she got her first real haircut. In the past she had always had a little trim here and there but this was more than just a little trim. She loves her new little hair do and she looks adorable. I can't begin to express how much easier it is to comb through after her bath (a lot less tears are shed now!) As you will see below after taking off 2 pounds of hair (literally she weighs 2 pounds less now) her curls are back in full force.

On top of old Smokey

Here is the house/condo we stayed at in Tennessee. Let me just tell you that we would have been in BIG trouble had it been snowing the slightest amount. We had to trek up the side of this mountain grasping for dear life (at least I was) as we cut corners and our tires grasped to make it all the way up. Thankfully, I was in the car with Mitchell whom I felt completely safe with his driving. The other driver's on the trip who shall remain nameless (but you know who you are) NOT quite so safe.

This is the driveway to the condo!
Can you imagine if it was snow and ice covered?

Carol, I'm trying to make up for all the lost time blogging. Hopefully this will cut me some slack!!!

Snakes, frogs and birds oh my

I was so excited to go to Science Alive to take pictures for Collin's class. It was such a blast to finally get to see what I have continually heard about for years. First we met Mr. Frog very green, then it was Paulie the parrot, O.K. Jack was the lovely milk snake, then we met Harriet the Spring Hare, and last but not least was Sunkist (the 40 pound python) pretty for a snake but not my fav. Here's some quick shots of our fun times.

Tennessee Fun

Right after New Years we took a quick trip down to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We had a GREAT time. We were so spoiled with the awesome weather. I think it was in the sixties pretty much the whole time we were there. Some of the highlights of our trip were horseback riding, hiking in the Smokies, Ripley's Aquarium, putt-putt and just fun times hanging out with the fam. Here are some pictures of our trip.
